How to Relieve Stress Using Daily Guided Meditation!

Do you carry stress in your life?

If you answered “yes”, you’re not alone!

Sometimes we suffer from stress from a job or circumstances beyond our control.

My way of dealing with stress is through eating nutrient rich foods and exercising.

There’s an additional way to handle stress!

These days, we hear about meditation because it’s supposed to help with stress.

We know it’s important to live in the moment or “mindfully”, but many times, we hear or read about meditating for an hour a day!

Well, even if you had a spare hour a day, would you meditate?

Meditation doesn’t necessarily require sitting on the floor with your legs crossed, and you don’t need to burn incense or hum.

Meditation is a way of relaxing your mind and body and turning off the outside world, even if it’s only for a short time.

You can do it from anywhere!

Why should you meditate?

“Meditation can improve longevity, decrease loneliness, may slow Alzheimer’s, and improve your mood” according to a Place for Mom,

What would happen if “I” dedicated 5 minutes a day to meditation?

Online, I found a number of 5 minute guided meditation videos and bookmarked them.

I gave it a try and afterwards, I added it to my calendar as a recurring appointment with an alert. I continued daily.

One morning, soon after starting this process, I drove to a scheduled dental cleaning appointment.

Normally I hate these because I have a bad nerve in my mouth (which gets hit every time) and I usually clench my teeth and get a headache.

This time I relaxed and pretended to feel good and never got a headache!


According to Andy Puddicombe in the TED talk below, we can’t change every little thing that happens to us in life, but we can change the way we experience it.


I’m hoping to someday graduate to 10 minutes.

Sometimes it takes years to get to an hour.

Baby steps, right?
