Have You Heard Of Ghost Bikes?

Sometimes when terrible things happen, great people appear out of nowhere.
Have you heard of Ghost Bikes LA?
They place white bikes at the scene of a crime where a fellow cyclist passed away.
The placement of the bike is a token of respect to the departed cyclist.
They do this out of the goodness of their hearts and ask for no money.
The purpose is to make sure that the cyclist is not forgotten and didn’t die in vain.
My Father was killed by a hit and run driver, while riding his bike.
After making contact in Facebook, Andres from Ghost Bikes LA, contacted me on the phone.
During our conversation, he told me how sorry he was about my Dad.
He said that Dad was in a good place now “riding with the angels”.
His words of comfort brought tears to my eyes.
I’ll never forget it.
He and the others from Ghost Bikes LA place memorial bikes, because they are compassionate people who understand what it’s like to lose a loved one…suddenly.
They care!
They placed a beautiful ghost bike on the scene of where my Dad was killed.
Since bikes are installed late at night or early in the morning, my Dad’s was installed at 2am.
Being out of state, I wasn’t able to attend.
I called a couple of family members who were able to show up at that time.
They brought flowers and there was a sign with My Dad’s name on it.
It was very touching and the bike was beautiful.
What a nice tribute.
Thank you so much Ghost Bikes LA!
This means more than you know!
Less than a week after Ghost Bikes LA placed Dad’s bike, someone stole the back tire.
Who would steal part of a memorial?
Even with one tire, the tribute is still beautiful.
